Traditional manual colony counting suffers from subjective bias, so regulatory guidelines almost always require a "second person verification" to ensure data accuracy. However, leading authorities like PIC/S, FDA, WHO, and USP are increasingly recognizing that validated automated colony counting systems can reduce reliance on second person verification, significantly enhancing compliance efficiency.
