During evaporation, H₂O₂ generates free hydroxyl radicals, which oxidize and damage cell components such as lipids, proteins, and DNA.
At room temperature, vaporized hydrogen peroxide can effectively kill bacteria, fungi, viruses, and other microorganisms.
